PROJECT

ASLAS is born from a commitment to the essential.

We work only with organic cotton that respects nature and the lives of those who cultivate it, sourced from Peruvian producers who work with responsible and traceable practices.

Organic cotton is grown without chemical pesticides or fertilizers, in harmony with soils that preserve their fertility and biodiversity. We collaborate with Peruvian agro-ecological leaders, pioneers in cultivating fibers that respect the land, the farmer, and those who wear our pieces.

The Challenge

Conventional cotton is one of the most polluting crops in the world. It accounts for 16% of all insecticides and 6% of all pesticides used globally. Many of these products have been identified as carcinogens.

Pests develop resistance to these chemicals within 5 to 6 years, forcing companies to create increasingly toxic compounds.

This jeopardizes the health of farmers, their families, and consumers, as many of these toxins are not completely eliminated.

Only organic and locally sourced materials

Organic cotton, on the other hand, is grown on land free of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and defoliants, which differentiates it from conventional cotton.

Furthermore, organic standards prohibit the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Peru maintains a ban on genetically modified seeds, which reduces the risk of contamination present in other cotton-producing countries.

The fact that our cotton is hand-picked is also an advantage: it reduces environmental impact and improves product quality.

We use organic Pima cotton in the vast majority of our garments, renowned for its softness, luster, and durability, thanks to its extra-long and fine fibers to create garments that feel good, last long, and withstand the test of time from traceable harvests and factories throughout Peru.

Hypoallergenic, as it contains no chemical residues, making it safer for the skin, especially for people with allergies or sensitivities.

Our cotton is GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified.

Handtags and Packaging

Our handtags are made from Italian cotton paper and cellulose. Our kraft paper packaging continually seeks to reduce, minimize, and optimize our low-impact materials and reduce excess packaging.

Impact

Each ASLAS garment reflects a silent yet profound impact:

We care for your health and the soil's.

Fair and stable pay for farmers.

Traceable and transparent production chains.

Up to 90% reduced water consumption compared to conventional cotton.

Made by Peruvian hands

Each ASLAS garment is crafted by local artisans with high technical skill and attention to every detail.

Future Commitment

We are still on our way. Our goal is to work directly with micro-producer cotton communities in Peru, establishing long-term relationships that strengthen both the land and the families who cultivate it.

With each collection, we advance towards this vision: to build garments that not only accompany your day but also tell a story of respect and care.
